Whitsun falls on Sunday 16 May and Monday 17 May in 2027. Whit Monday is a statutory holiday in all sixteen states. Only Brandenburg expressly lists Whit Sunday as a holiday; as a Sunday it is a day off everywhere. Whitsun always falls 49 days, or seven weeks, after Easter Sunday, so between 10 May and 13 June. Because Easter is early in 2027, so is Whitsun: in 2028 it only comes on 4 and 5 June. For leave planning, Whitsun 2027 is the middle of a run of three holidays within three weeks: Ascension Day on Thursday 6 May, Whit Monday on 17 May and, in six states, Corpus Christi on Thursday 27 May. Four leave days from Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 May turn the long Whitsun weekend into nine days off. In states with Corpus Christi, the week after Whitsun and the bridge day on 28 May can be joined.

Where the Whitsun date comes from
Pentecost means "the fiftieth day": Whit Sunday is the fiftieth day of Eastertide, counting Easter Sunday. So, like every movable holiday, Whitsun depends on the Easter date, computed with Gauss's Easter formula. More on the Easter date is on Easter 2027, and on the Thursday after on Corpus Christi.
