Rhineland-Palatinate has 11 statutory public holidays, the same number and dates as North Rhine-Westphalia: the nine nationwide ones plus Corpus Christi and All Saints' Day. The legal basis is section 2 of the state act protecting Sundays and holidays. In 2027, 7 holidays fall on weekdays and 254 working days remain. Corpus Christi on Thursday 27 May and Ascension Day on Thursday 6 May each create a true bridge day on the Friday after. All Saints' Day falls on a Monday. 2028 is the better year: ten leave days can buy 32 days off, against 27 in 2027. If you live in Rhineland-Palatinate but work in Hesse, say in Wiesbaden or Frankfurt, you do not get All Saints' Day off, because the workplace counts. Conversely, commuters from Hesse into Mainz do get 1 November off.

Between Hesse and Saarland
Besides the holidays, the state act protecting Sundays and holidays sets the quiet days and the hours of the main church service, during which public events are restricted. Its list of holidays matches that of neighbouring North Rhine-Westphalia.
At the state's borders the calendars differ: Hesse has no All Saints' Day, Saarland adds Assumption Day, Baden-Württemberg Epiphany. Cross-border commuters to Luxembourg face different rules again, which the calculator does not cover.
